White House: US won’t fund Gaza’s reconstruction under Trump’s takeover plan “`

President Trump’s plan to assume control of the Gaza Strip envisions its transformation into a thriving coastal region.

The White House announced that the US will rely on Middle Eastern allies to fund Gaza’s reconstruction. President Trump’s Tuesday announcement included plans to raze war-damaged structures and develop the area. He indicated a willingness to deploy US forces if necessary and suggested relocating Palestinians to wealthier neighboring countries.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that the US will not finance the rebuilding effort. Instead, the administration will collaborate with regional partners for reconstruction.

Regarding potential Palestinian displacement, Leavitt stated that President Trump aims to rebuild Gaza for peace-loving residents seeking economic progress, emphasizing a commitment to rebuilding and temporarily relocating current Gazan residents. She confirmed that troop deployment remains undecided.

Leavitt noted that President Trump has urged Egypt and Jordan to accept Palestinian refugees.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II publicly rejected any displacement or annexation of Palestinian land. Egypt’s Foreign Ministry similarly affirmed its support for a two-state solution and the right of Palestinians to remain in Gaza.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its refusal to normalize relations with Israel without a universally recognized Palestinian state and its opposition to any displacement of Palestinians.
