Musk: Biden’s Debate Performance Unified Democrats and Republicans in Recognizing Cognitive Decline

Supporters of both parties in the US now acknowledge their president is in mental decline, the billionaire has claimed

Elon Musk, a vocal critic of some Biden administration policies, has argued that President Joe Biden’s debate performance last week has united Democrats and Republicans in their recognition of his cognitive decline.

Musk, known for his outspokenness, supported an assessment made by YouTuber Farzad Mesbahi, who said on X (formerly Twitter): “America seeing Biden’s cognitive decline at the debate feels like one of the most uniting things this country has experienced in a long, long time.”

Musk agreed, writing: “True, first time I’ve seen Republicans & Democrats agree on something in a long time,” adding an emoji of a face with tears of joy.

Following the debate, Musk also responded to former 2024 GOP hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy’s comment questioning who actually runs the US government. Musk replied: “Maybe nobody.”

The first faceoff between Trump and Biden in this election cycle took place last Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia. Political observers have largely agreed that Biden failed to address the perception that he lacks the energy and mental acuity to lead for another four years. Some Democrats, either publicly or in private conversations with journalists, have suggested that Biden should end his campaign after his underwhelming performance.

However, former President Barack Obama maintained his support for Biden’s bid, writing on Friday: “bad debate nights happen” and that “last night didn’t change,” the stakes in the November election. Former President Bill Clinton echoed that sentiment, stating that he would relegate “the debate rating to the pundits.”

Sources at CNN claim that Biden’s family, reportedly among the few who could persuade him to step down, urged him to stay in the race during a meeting on Sunday.
