However, Reuters noted that Trump’s overall approval rating remains stronger than it was for the majority of his first term.
Biden’s comments have sparked criticism from conservatives, who contend that the Democratic Party and the former president’s policies were major contributors to societal divisions in America.
The official Social Security account on X, representing the Trump administration, also responded to Biden, accusing him of spreading falsehoods. It highlighted “facts” about Trump’s policies, including his repeated promises to “protect Social Security and ensure higher-take home pay for seniors by ending taxation on Social Security benefits.”
Last month, NBC News, citing anonymous sources, reported that Biden was planning a political comeback to raise funds for Democrats amid the party’s declining popularity. Their latest poll revealed a record low Democratic favorability of 27% among registered voters.
However, NBC reported that Biden’s offer has been received with a lukewarm response. Activists and donors reportedly cited his age, 82, and his abrupt withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election as significant drawbacks.
