Volare (Formerly NVRDC) to Receive Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life Award

2025 Potomac River Bench & Bar Peak Performance and Mental Wellness Summit

Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Mar 14, 2025  – The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC), along with its Young Lawyers Section, has announced that Volare (formerly NVRDC) will receive the 2025 Constance L. Belfiore Quality of Life Award. This award recognizes legal organizations that prioritize the well-being of their legal and professional staff. It emphasizes a commitment to work-life balance, flexible work arrangements, remote work options, a supportive atmosphere, and inclusivity. Volare will be presented with the award on March 21, 2025, during the 2025 Potomac River Bench & Bar Peak Performance and Mental Wellness Summit, held at the Washington office of K&L Gates LLP. Rawle Andrews Jr., Esq. and Shirley Ann Higuchi, Esq. from the BADC will co-chair the event.

Volare, originally founded in 2012 as the Network of Victim Recovery of DC, strives to broaden, support, and protect the rights of crime victims. Beyond legal and advocacy services, Volare offers immediate crisis response in hospitals to survivors of sexual assault and rape. They have maintained a 100% response rate in their first year, providing advocacy for survivors around the clock, every day of the year. This latest honor underscores Volare’s dedication to cultivating a positive workplace culture and upholding core values that promote teamwork and empower individual strengths.
