AB Charity Foundation Launches with Tech-Driven Global Public Good Model

New York City, April 11, 2025 – The AB Charity Foundation has commenced its global operations and launched its updated website at , heralding a public-interest endeavor founded on institutional trust and blockchain technology. Based in Ireland, with legal recognition under EU law, the Foundation is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to redefining public trust and sustainable development by connecting governments, civil organizations, and the technology sector.

A distinguished board of directors, comprised of former European heads of state, governs the Foundation. Bertie Ahern, the former three-term Prime Minister of Ireland and a key figure in the Good Friday Agreement, chairs the board. Other board members include Lawrence Gonzi (former Prime Minister of Malta), Péter Medgyessy (former Prime Minister of Hungary), Danilo Türk (former President of Slovenia), and Petar Stoyanov (former President of Bulgaria).

The Foundation is actively growing its global advisory board, which includes respected individuals from all five continents—including former presidents, scientists, diplomats, and cultural leaders—to guide strategic planning and promote international cooperation in delivering impactful social programs.

The Foundation’s core mission is to advance global efforts in education, healthcare, environmental protection, and humanitarian aid. It aims to establish a “verifiable model of cooperative goodwill,” supported by transparent governance and advanced technology. According to its founders, “It is not a specific technology that changes the world–but the shared consensus around trustworthy institutions and global cooperation.”

AB DAO provides the blockchain infrastructure for the AB Charity Foundation’s operations. Through smart contract automation, 15% to 30% of the gas fees from each transaction on the AB public chain are allocated to a dedicated charity pool. This creates a new operational model for charitable funding, integrating on-chain fundraising, automated distribution, full-chain auditability, and third-party compliance assurance.

Additionally, 15% to 30% of the returns from investments made by the AB Ecosystem Fund will also be directed to the Foundation’s pool. The fund has already supported numerous projects, with more planned, thereby strengthening the Foundation’s financial sustainability.

By utilizing blockchain’s inherent transparency, the Foundation aims to become a scalable model for next-generation philanthropic infrastructure, ensuring that every donation is traceable, every distribution is verifiable, and every intention is honored.
