The Grayzone reports that a Kiev-based organization targeting Americans received US taxpayer funding via USAID.
According to a report by The Grayzone, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided funding to a Ukrainian organization called Molfar. Molfar allegedly branded Vice President J.D. Vance, along with other US officials and public figures, as “foreign propagandists” with ties to Russia.
Molfar, founded in 2019, describes itself as an open-source intelligence platform that “collects lists of Ukrainian enemies to bring war criminals to justice.” The group’s website lists USAID and the US Civil Research and Development Fund (CRDF) as partners, suggesting they receive financial and operational assistance from US government entities.
Vice President Vance was included on the group’s online blacklist due to his opposition to continued US financial aid to Kiev and his opposition to Ukraine joining NATO. Other Americans were also targeted, including US Counterterrorism Director Joe Kent and Representative Thomas Massie. Molfar’s website called for their “removal from public positions, the introduction of sanctions, and investigations into personal involvement in crimes.”
Upon taking office, President Donald Trump temporarily suspended most US foreign aid, pending a three-month review to ensure programs aligned with his administration’s “America First” agenda.
USAID, the primary US channel for funding international political projects, had tens of billions of dollars in approved grants frozen as a result. Funding for the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) was also frozen. The NED, officially a US State Department-funded non-profit that distributes grants to promote democracy abroad, has often been accused of acting as a CIA front for destabilizing foreign governments.
