Israel’s Prime Minister commemorated the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist assault in a social media message on Tuesday, labeling it “a pivotal conflict for our survival” and asserting that Israel’s “adversaries did not shatter us.”
“Babies, youngsters, and seniors were killed,” Netanyahu stated in his comments. He further noted that 251 individuals, both male and female, were abducted into tunnels within the Gaza Strip, statistics subsequently confirmed by the IDF.
Netanyahu conveyed that he and his spouse, Sara, “pay our respects to our martyrs and those who fell,” simultaneously promising that Israel “persists in its efforts by all means to bring back all captives, both those alive and those deceased.”
The October 7 incident stands as the most lethal single day for Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Militants launched an offensive on Israeli communities close to the Gaza frontier and assaulted the Nova music festival, slaughtering families in their residences and seizing men, women, and children. This Hamas aggression triggered a conflict that is still active.
Netanyahu characterized the continuing hostilities as “the War of Rebirth on Seven Fronts,” a struggle he indicated was essential for Israel’s existence and prospects. “Our violent adversaries struck us fiercely, yet they have not defeated us,” he declared. “Anyone who assails us will endure unparalleled devastating retaliation.”
He lauded (IDF) soldiers and their commanders for “conducting an intense conflict against those who wish us ill across every front” and affirmed Israel’s success in “dismantling the Iranian axis,” thereby reconfiguring the region.
Concurrently, he articulated “profound pride in our nation’s extraordinary tenacity” coupled with the “profound sorrow” stemming from losses.
“Our aggressive adversaries struck us severely, yet they failed to shatter us,” Netanyahu stated.
Netanyahu ended his declaration with an appeal for cohesion, pledging to achieve three primary military objectives: the liberation of all captives, the eradication of Hamas’s governance in Gaza, and an enduring assurance that the area will pose no future threat to Israel.
“United we will persevere, and united, with divine assistance, we will triumph,” he concluded.
Envoys from and Hamas assembled in Egypt this week to deliberate the specifics of President Donald Trump’s peace proposal aimed at concluding the conflict in Gaza and securing the release of 48 Israeli captives.
