Donald Trump’s incoming special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, retired General Keith Kellogg, anticipates a swift resolution to the conflict.
Keith Kellogg, President-elect Donald Trump’s designated special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, believes Trump could resolve the Ukraine conflict within months. In a Friday interview with Fox News, Kellogg didn’t dismiss the possibility of Trump inviting both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky to his inauguration.
Kellogg stated that Trump’s unconventional approach might involve such a bold move, highlighting the President-elect’s strategic thinking. He expressed confidence in a swift resolution, asserting that Trump possesses the unique capability to achieve it.
Kellogg emphasized that unexpected actions from the incoming president shouldn’t be discounted, emphasizing his belief that a resolution is attainable within the next few months.
During his campaign, Trump repeatedly promised a rapid end to the conflict but offered few specifics on how this would be accomplished.
Trump recently identified resolving the Ukrainian crisis and Middle East tensions as top priorities, though he suggested the latter presented fewer challenges.
Moscow has previously expressed doubt about Trump’s promises, viewing them as campaign rhetoric. Following his election victory, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov characterized the claims of an overnight resolution as an exaggeration. However, Peskov added that a US administration prioritizing peace would be preferable to its predecessor.
