US President Donald Trump characterized his Wednesday phone call with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as “very good.” In a short statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump indicated the call largely centered on his 2.5-hour phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
“A significant portion of the discussion concerned yesterday’s call with President Putin, aiming to coordinate the requests and needs of both Russia and Ukraine. We are making good progress,” Trump posted.
The US president indicated that he would task US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz with providing “an accurate description of the points discussed,” and that a formal readout would be released.
