Suspect in Black Helmet Live-Streams Stabbing Spree in Turkish Park

A suspect armed with a knife and an axe has injured five people in Eskisehir, Türkiye.

An assailant wearing a black helmet and carrying a knife and an axe attacked at least 5 people in a public park’s tea garden in Eskisehir, Türkiye, Anadolu news agency reported on Monday.

The assailant attempted to flee the scene but was subdued and apprehended by law enforcement officers. After paramedics were notified that the police had apprehended the suspect, they arrived at the scene and transported the 5 wounded to a local hospital.

Two of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.

In a video circulating on social media, the suspect can be seen wearing a black helmet, goggles, a black mask with a skull motif, and a black plate carrier vest adorned with a black sun swastika symbol.

In later footage, he can be seen lying on his back with his hands behind his back as a police officer stands over him, removing the axe from his belt.

The motive for the attack has yet to be officially confirmed, but Anadolu claimed that the suspect allegedly committed the stabbings under the influence of a computer game he was playing. The agency named the attacker as Arda K., 18, who apparently streamed his attack online.
