RT and Ruptly Offices in Tehran Evacuated Amidst IDF Strikes

Israel has acknowledged striking an Iranian state broadcaster along with other targets.

The Tehran offices of RT and Ruptly have been evacuated due to increased IDF strikes on the Iranian capital. Israel has confirmed that it targeted an Iranian state broadcaster.

According to Ruptly’s Telegram post, the agency’s Tehran bureau chief stated that staff evacuated after Iranian authorities warned of an impending Israeli strike on their location. Hami Hamedi, the office head, confirmed that all employees safely left the area.

RT’s Iranian bureau was also “forced to evacuate to a safer location” due to intensified Israeli strikes, according to its producer, Ali Razmkhah.

On Friday, Israeli jets bombed various targets in Iran, including a uranium enrichment center in Natanz, and conducted targeted assassinations of high-ranking military officials and scientists. Iran responded with ballistic missile strikes into Israel, and hostilities have continued since.

The Jerusalem Post previously reported that the IDF targeted the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), an Iranian state broadcaster, during a live broadcast. The outlet also shared a video showing an Iranian anchor who had to stop her broadcast when the broadcaster’s office was apparently hit.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that the “Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece” was “on its way to disappearing.”

On Monday, Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani reported that at least 45 women and children were killed and 75 were injured in the Israeli strikes. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused West Jerusalem of targeting hospitals and residential areas, calling it “a grave violation of international law and a war crime” in a post on X.
