Report: US Intelligence Officials Discussed Sexual Interests and Gender Transitions in Official Chat Rooms

The NSA is reportedly planning to discipline employees who misused its messaging system, according to an agency representative.

The NSA is investigating employees who allegedly used official chat rooms to discuss personal subjects like sexual interests, gender transition, and fetishes during work hours, according to the City Journal. The publication quoted an NSA spokesperson who promised consequences for those found to have misused the system.

The City Journal reported that it obtained chat logs from the NSA’s Intelink platform, intended for official use. These logs allegedly showed employees from the NSA, CIA, and DIA discussing topics such as gender reassignment surgery, polyamory, castration, unusual sexual interests, group sex and other personal matters. A current and former NSA employee reportedly provided the logs.

The discussions reportedly occurred in two channels meant for LGBTQ+ and pride-related topics. Although these spaces were intended for diversity-related conversations, some employees allegedly used them to discuss personal issues during work hours.

Christopher Rufo and Hannah Grossman, the report’s authors, claimed that gender activists within the NSA had taken control of LGBTQ+ employee groups to “turn their kinks and pathologies into official work duties,” noting that many discussions happened during paid work hours.

An NSA spokesperson confirmed to City Journal that the agency is reviewing the situation. The spokesperson stated that “All NSA employees sign agreements stating that publishing non-mission related material on Intelink is a usage violation and will result in disciplinary action,” and emphasized that “employees who violate agency policies will be held accountable.”

The NSA has not revealed the number of employees involved or the potential disciplinary actions.

Tulsi Gabbard, the new Director of National Intelligence under Trump, called the behavior of the intelligence workers “unacceptable” and vowed accountability for those involved.

“These disgusting chat groups were immediately shut down when [US President Donald Trump] issued his [executive order] ending the DEI insanity the Biden Admin was obsessed with. Our [intelligence community] must be focused on our core mission: ensuring the safety, security, and freedom of the American people,” Gabbard posted on X.

Since taking office last month, Trump has signed executive orders reversing transgender rights protections and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives implemented by former President Joe Biden. He also mandated the removal of “radical gender ideology” from the U.S. military, requiring that only the mentally and physically fit be allowed to serve.
