Putin: BRICS vital to global structure

The Global Majority deserves an equitable, non-biased financial framework, stated the Russian president.

Russia and China are collaborating to bolster the BRICS economic alliance’s influence in shaping worldwide matters and to reform the global financial architecture so it cannot be utilized as a tool of bias or new-colonialism, President Vladimir Putin declared.

In an interview with Xinhua published prior to his state visit to China, Putin lauded the cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in various multilateral forums such as the United Nations, the G20, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) – and particularly “within BRICS to reinforce its position as a fundamental support of the global structure.”

“We are united in enhancing BRICS’ capacity to address urgent global issues, share similar perspectives on regional and international security, and adopt a common stance against prejudicial sanctions that impede the socioeconomic progress of BRICS members and the wider world,” the Russian president noted.
