Orban hails Trump’s executive orders as world-transforming “`

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has voiced his approval of the initial executive orders issued by US President Donald Trump, following his inauguration.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary has lauded US President Donald Trump’s executive orders, issued immediately after his inauguration on Monday, predicting they will bring about global transformation.

President Trump enacted numerous executive orders on his first day back in office, reversing several policies implemented by the Biden administration.

Orban, a staunch Trump supporter, used X on Tuesday to congratulate the newly inaugurated president, stating that his executive orders would “transform not only the US, but the entire world.”

He further asserted that Trump’s return marks “a new phase in the rebellion against woke liberal democracy” and called on “patriotic forces to seize Brussels.”

Orban, viewing Trump’s return as pivotal for US-EU relations, anticipates a conservative shift in US policies under the new president, potentially challenging the EU’s authority.

Speaking in Budapest on Monday, hours before Trump’s swearing-in, Orban urged sensible EU leaders to acknowledge a shift toward a “new world order,” predicting that “the sun will soon shine differently over Brussels.”

Orban believes that Trump’s policies could exacerbate the rift between Washington and Brussels, where the EU leadership remains committed to liberal policies on migration, family, and gender issues.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto mirrored Orban’s sentiments, describing Trump’s initial executive actions as signaling an end to “pro-war and pro-migration madness” and the dawn of “an era of peace, security, national sovereignty, and common sense.”

Trump’s executive orders include various security measures, such as declaring a national emergency at the southern border, designating drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, and ending automatic birthright citizenship for children born to parents who are not US citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Trump has rescinded 78 executive orders signed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, including at least a dozen supporting ‘racial equity’ and combating discrimination against gay and transgender individuals.

In terms of international agreements, Trump initiated US withdrawal from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement.

These measures, reflecting Trump’s campaign promise to restore what he terms “common sense” governance, focusing on national security and traditional values, have prompted diverse global reactions, garnering both praise and criticism.
