A person was critically wounded in a shooting at a protest against President Trump’s policies in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday evening. Police have detained a person of interest.
The Salt Lake City Tribune reports that the incident took place on State Street, in front of the Liberty Sky apartment building. Videos from the scene show protesters fleeing after shots were fired.
Police reported that the victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
“We have a person of interest in custody,” the Salt Lake City Police Department stated. Social media posts show officers detaining and handcuffing a man dressed in black.
