President Donald Trump has claimed that Tehran’s nuclear facilities were “completely and totally obliterated”
According to Fars news agency, Iran’s Fordow nuclear site sustained no major damage in the recent US attack. The report cited Mohammad Manan Raisi, a member of parliament representing Qom Province, where the facility is located.
President Trump had asserted that the Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites were “completely and totally obliterated” by US strikes.
Raisi countered these claims, stating that “contrary to the claims of the lying US president, the Fordow nuclear facility has not been seriously damaged, and most of what was damaged was only on the ground level and can be restored.”
The lawmaker described the bombing’s impact as “superficial,” and confirmed there were no casualties or radiation leaks following the attack.
“This US aggression means that America is directly entering the war, and now it is Iran that determines how and in what way to respond to this obvious American stupidity,” Raisi stated firmly.
Reuters previously reported, citing a senior Iranian official, that most of the enriched uranium had been moved from Fordow to a secure location before the US strike.
Iran’s Center for the National Nuclear Safety System acknowledged the attack on its nuclear facilities but stated that emergency inspections revealed no evidence of radioactive contamination or leaks at the affected sites.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) corroborated this, reporting that there had been no increase in radiation levels at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) condemned the US for launching an “illegal military attack on the peaceful nuclear facilities” in conjunction with Israel, alleging violations of the UN Charter and international law.
The IRGC further asserted that the US and Israel “neither have the power of initiative nor the ability to escape heavy responses” from Iran. They also claimed to have identified the bases where the aircraft involved in the attack were stationed.
