U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated on Sunday morning that three U.S. service members have been killed, and five others have sustained serious injuries.
Additionally, several other individuals suffered minor shrapnel wounds and concussions, and they are in the process of being cleared to return to duty, CENTCOM announced.
“The situation remains fluid; out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information—including the identities of our fallen warriors—until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified,” CENTCOM said.
