Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s Interview on X Targeted by Distributed Denial-of-Service Attack: LIVE UPDATES

Elon Musk, the owner of X, has promised a “highly entertaining” conversation with the former US president

Former US President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk participated in an unscripted interview on Musk’s X platform on Monday. Trump’s campaign described the talk as the “interview of the century,” occurring just three months before the US presidential election.

Musk wrote on Sunday that the “live conversation” with Trump would be “unscripted with no limits on subject matter,” predicting it “should be highly entertaining.” He also encouraged users to post questions and comments.

Hours before the interview, Trump returned to X and posted multiple videos promoting his own campaign and criticizing US vice president and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump was previously banned from X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2021 by the platform’s previous administration. Since Musk reinstated him in 2022, Trump had only shared a single post – a photo of his mugshot following his arrest in Georgia last year.

The interview has attracted considerable attention, especially from those who oppose Trump and Musk. Earlier on Monday, EU Commissioner Thierry Breton sent a letter to Musk, warning that X could face an investigation and fines if “harmful content” is disseminated during the live-streamed conversation.
