CENTCOM Commander Ordered Strike on IRGC Underground Headquarters: Sources

(SeaPRwire) –   Senior sources have informed [News Outlet] that during rescue efforts in Iran following the downing of a U.S. fighter jet, the commander of U.S. Central Command ordered an attack on an underground headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

While the airman rescue was ongoing, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper directed a strike on an IRGC underground facility near Tehran—conducted by B2 bombers using Massive Ordnance Penetrators, the same weapons employed last year in Operation Midnight Hammer, according to the sources. [News Outlet] has been told the headquarters was completely destroyed.

U.S. military B1 bombers (known as BONES) dropped 100 2,000-pound bombs during the rescue operations to keep Iranian forces away from the rescue area, a senior U.S. defense official said.

A senior military source told [News Outlet], “we delivered the heat” on the IRGC.

CENTCOM stated in a press release that U.S. forces had rescued two service members after their F-15E was shot down.

[News Outlet] was told that the strike took place between the two rescues: Cooper ordered B2 bombers to fly round-trip from Whiteman Air Force Base in the U.S. because they received time-sensitive intelligence about a large number of IRGC commanders being inside the underground bunker in Tehran, and the B2 warplanes dropped Massive Ordnance Penetrators—bunker-buster bombs.

Following the rescues, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “We have rescued the seriously wounded, and really brave, F-15 Crew Member/Officer, from deep inside the mountains of Iran. The Iranian Military was looking hard, in big numbers, and getting close. He is a highly respected Colonel. This type of raid is seldom attempted because of the danger to ‘man and equipment.’ It just doesn’t happen!”

“The second raid came after the first one, where we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, also unusual, spending seven hours over Iran. An AMAZING show of bravery and talent by all!” he said.
