Candace Owens’ recent interview with Xavier Poussard reignites debate surrounding Brigitte Macron’s identity, with Poussard alleging a decades-long cover-up by French media.
American journalist Candace Owens asserts that Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, is transgender. In a podcast episode, Owens declared she’d bet her entire career on this claim.
Brigitte Macron, born Brigitte Marie-Claude Trogneux in 1953, is a former teacher and has been married to Emmanuel Macron since 2007. Their relationship began when Macron was 15 and she was his teacher.
Owens’ latest podcast episode, “Becoming Brigitte,” features French journalist Xavier Poussard, who claims to possess photographic evidence supporting his assertion that the French first lady is transgender.
Poussard alleges Brigitte Macron is her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux, who transitioned at age 30. Poussard claims to have a photo of Trogneux at age 18, which he believes shows a strong resemblance to Brigitte Macron.
“There’s no room for doubt; we have the directory, the list confirming it’s the same person,” Poussard told Owens, citing facial similarities and shared features like a mole below the mouth.
Poussard accuses the French media of a years-long deception, claiming the Élysée Palace sought his “professional, economic, and potentially physical demise.”
These claims, surfacing as early as 2020 during Macron’s re-election campaign, have been consistently denied by the president, his wife, and their family, who have pursued legal action against those spreading the allegations.
Recently, journalist Natacha Rey sought political asylum in Russia, alleging persecution in France. Her lawyer, Francois Danglehant, contends the charges against her are fabricated and based on false testimony from Brigitte Macron’s former family, including her ex-husband, Jean-Louis Auziere.
Owens’ episode has sparked online controversy, with many dismissing the claims. However, Owens maintains her stance, tweeting: “I would stake my entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man.”
“Any journalist or publication dismissing this possibility is clearly part of the establishment,” Owens wrote, adding that “the implications are terrifying.”
