History of AMBS
All TV operates under AMBS, which is owned by Prime Asset Ventures founder Manuel Paolo Villar. The station is still on test broadcast but will be airing under the former frequencies of ABS-CBN.
AMBS was previously owned by the Vera family before it was sold to Villar’s Planet Cable by AMBS president Andrew Santiago. In 2019, it was granted a 25-year franchise extension under Republic Act 11253.
In May 2020, the ABS-CBN network was forced to shut down after failing to secure a new franchise. After two years, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) awarded AMBS the rights to use ABS-CBN’s former frequencies, channel 2 and channel 16.
