Zurn Elkay Introduces New 900XL3 Series Small Backflow Preventer

Vancouver, British Columbia, July 24, 2024 – Zurn Elkay Water Solutions, a leading provider of water solutions for drinking water, hygiene, and sustainable water management, has introduced the new 900XL3 series of small backflow preventers.

Combining the best features of Zurn Elkay’s popular 300 and 900 series backflow preventers, the new Zurn Wilkins ® 900XL3 series boasts the shortest lay length of any all-bronze small backflow preventer on the market. This makes installation easier for contractors.

“The new 900XL3 series offers numerous benefits, including reduced size and a lower overall cost of ownership,” said John Mankins, Director of Product Management, Water Safety and Control for Zurn Elkay. “The streamlined design of the 900XL3 facilitates faster installation and simpler maintenance. The conveniently located fast-test test cocks along the centerline ensure easy accessibility and minimize space constraints. The 900XL3 series also features modular cartridge internals and a single, top-access check cover for quick and easy maintenance and repair access. “Backflow installers and testers will appreciate the ease and durability of the 900XL3 series. With one of the lowest total installation costs on first-fit and a long lifecycle value, we are confident that they will prefer this for new installations or retrofit applications,” continued Mankins. “Our EZSwap ® check technology with top access, found in the 900XL3 series, can help contractors save up to 75% of labor time in repairs.”

The 900XL3 series is designed for both residential and commercial applications. Available as a double check assembly (950XL3) in sizes from 3/4″ to 2″ or a reduced pressure principle (975XL3) in sizes from 1/2″ to 2″, it is an excellent choice for any retrofit or new construction project. Its all-bronze construction ensures durability and longevity, even in harsh environments.

The 900XL3 series meets lead-free environmental requirements and complies fully with ASSE ® 1013 (1/2″ to 2″) / 1015 (3/4″ to 2″) and AWWA ® C510 standards. Additionally, the 900XL3 series is cUPC ® listed, meets the requirements of NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and 372, and is approved by the Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research at the University of Southern California.
