NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec. 9, 2025 — Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zoomlion”; 1157.HK) is assisting Kenyan farmers in managing the nation’s variable climate, where intense rainfall creates muddy fields and dry spells harden the soil. In the Nakuru region, the company’s farm equipment is boosting land output and providing farmers with machinery adapted to local terrain. Approximately 70% of Kenyans rely on agriculture, yet advancement has been hindered by a lack of mechanization. Harsh weather tests manual farming methods, and second-hand machinery frequently fails to meet needs. Dependable and productive equipment is now a critical requirement.

At a Zoomlion distribution center, engineer Solomon conducts a pre-delivery inspection on a tractor. Each machine is subject to rigorous quality control. A recent consignment featured RC110 tractors destined for Angata Sugar Mills. The peak farming seasons in Kenya run from March to May and again from September to November. John, the sugar mill’s logistics head, organizes fleets of equipment for deployment. Sugarcane is a key economic crop, and the mill cultivates 1,000 hectares with the aid of roughly 60 Zoomlion machines. Both production and operational efficiency have risen significantly, he noted.

The tractors have been well-received by farmers and operators for their strength, fuel economy, and user-friendly design, according to Kenneth, a Zoomlion service engineer based locally. A single storage facility currently houses nearly 300 units of machinery, such as tractors, harvesters, and transplanters. Zoomlion’s technology has additionally reduced logistics expenses. “Following the introduction of our tractors, short-distance transport operating costs decreased by approximately 30%,” stated Zhu Wenxi, Zoomlion’s Deputy General Manager for East Africa. For machine operators like Malala, the impact is direct: “We did all the lifting by hand before. The job is much simpler now.”

To ensure consistent equipment operation, Zoomlion positions Kenyan engineers at the sugar factory to provide on-the-spot assistance. John remarked that having them continuously on-site has been extremely beneficial. Service personnel also instruct local technicians, equipping them to resolve problems on their own. Environmental conditions have driven additional improvements. Premature wear from constant braking on wet, muddy roads led Zoomlion to enhance the brake pads in subsequent models. Service engineer Ken Gang just came back from a skills development program in China. He said the knowledge gained allows him to instruct Kenyan operators in methods that are both safer and more effective.

The expansion of this machinery across Kenya’s farmlands is resulting in greater crop production and reduced physical strain for farmers. As the partnership strengthens, Zoomlion is contributing to the development of a contemporary agricultural future for the area, founded on collaborative innovation and expanding prospects.
