Rajasthan is taking a major step forward in green energy with a new project investment from the UAE worth ₹3 Lakh Crore. The agreement was signed on Tuesday.
Jaipur, Rajasthan, October 24, 2024 – Rajasthan has secured a significant deal with the UAE, marking a historical moment for India. The agreement, worth 3 lakh crore, focuses on renewable energy and will drive the development of green projects. The United Arab Emirates has expressed strong interest in the project and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India on Tuesday. The agreement was reached at the Chief Minister’s Residence between Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and UAE’s Investment Minister Mohammed Hasan Alsuwaidi.
The deal paves the way for solar, wind, and hybrid energy generation projects with a combined capacity of 60 gigawatts. These projects are planned for establishment in the western districts of Rajasthan. Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industries Department, Government of Rajasthan, signed the MoU with Alsuwaidi, highlighting Rajasthan’s commitment to harnessing modern technology for sustainable power generation.
The UAE Government will appoint a competent developer who will work closely with the Rajasthan Government to ensure the project’s timely execution. Rajasthan is rapidly becoming a leader in renewable energy, thanks to the proactive efforts of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on international platforms. The upcoming Rajasthan Global Investment Summit-2024 will attract more foreign investors to the country. Private multinational companies can also gain greater exposure through these summits. With the involvement of the UAE government, Rajasthan is expected to witness transformative development in the coming days. This will lead to job growth and sustainable practices, which are becoming increasingly crucial in all industries. In the past 10 months, a total of 32,000 megawatts worth of deals have been signed.
