Türkiye’s prominent digital asset platform has finalized the nation’s biggest fintech deal and its initial international digital asset platform acquisition, broadening its regulated presence from Türkiye into the MENA area.

ISTANBUL, Dec. 5, 2025 — Paribu, Türkiye’s premier digital asset platform, revealed today that it has purchased CoinMENA, the most significant local crypto exchange in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), through a deal that values the company at as much as USD 240 million.

Paribu to acquire CoinMENA, MENA’s largest local crypto exchange, in a transaction valued at up to USD 240 million

This agreement marks Türkiye’s biggest fintech deal thus far and the nation’s initial cross-border acquisition within the digital asset platform sector. It additionally highlights the continuous consolidation occurring in the worldwide digital asset industry, as existing regional participants pursue enhanced scale, regulatory robustness, and expanded market penetration.

Following this acquisition, Paribu plans to extend its operations beyond its domestic market in Türkiye into a territory demonstrating significant crypto adoption. Via CoinMENA, the localized entity holding licenses from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) and the Central Bank of Bahrain, Paribu will gain access to two operational digital asset licenses. This broadened regulatory presence establishes Paribu as one of the limited regulated multi-jurisdiction operators in the area and aligns with its approach for compliance-led expansion into novel markets.

Paribu stands among Türkiye’s forefront companies in both the digital asset and fintech industries, executing a growth plan centered on adherence to regulations, advancements in products, and wider geographical reach. In 2024, Paribu launched Paribu Custody, Türkiye’s inaugural and sole digital asset custody provider, which utilizes its exclusive multi-layered security system, ColdShield®. By October 2025, the Capital Markets Board (CMB) granted Paribu permission to form a brokerage firm, signifying its foray into the capital markets. The purchase of CoinMENA additionally solidifies Paribu’s standing as a regional fintech trailblazer.

Established in 2020 by Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA functions as a licensed crypto asset service provider under the oversight of regulatory bodies in Bahrain and Dubai. CoinMENA has secured close to 20 million USD in overall financing from various investors, such as BECO, Arab Bank Switzerland, Circle, and Bunat Ventures. The platform currently caters to over 1.5 million users spanning 45 nations, providing availability to more than 50 cryptocurrencies and accommodating numerous local currencies throughout the MENA region.

Yasin Oral, Paribu’s Founder and CEO, stated:

“This deal marks a pivotal moment not just for Paribu, but equally for the digital asset and wider financial landscape within Türkiye and the MENA region. Through this purchase, we have extended our licensed activities into an expanded geographical area, thus establishing ourselves as a regulated participant in one of the globe’s most crypto-embracing markets. We take pride in spearheading Türkiye’s most substantial fintech acquisition and its initial global agreement for a digital asset platform.”

“CoinMENA, the premier local crypto exchange across the MENA region, serves as a perfect collaborator for our expansion within the area,” Oral proceeded. “By taking this action, we are initiating a fresh phase in Paribu’s trajectory of growth, broadening our footprint into the MENA region and adding to the continuous integration of the global digital asset sector, leveraging the robust groundwork we’ve laid in Türkiye.”

Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA’s Co-Founders, issued a joint statement:

“The digital asset market in MENA continues its expansion and development, and collaborating with Paribu will assist in hastening this progress. By merging CoinMENA’s specific regional knowledge with Paribu’s technological capabilities, we are prepared to create an extensive range of digital asset offerings for customers throughout Türkiye and the MENA region. This acquisition represents the most significant transformative event in CoinMENA’s timeline. Paribu’s capital infusion confirms the robustness of our achievements, and collectively, we aspire to establish novel benchmarks for availability and advancement within the region’s digital asset sector.”
