London’s MIT Square Honors Chairman of Sethu Institute of Technology

London, England Jun 21, 2025  – Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel, the Founder and Chairman of Sethu Institute of Technology (SIT) in Madurai, India, was recently recognized for his exceptional work in education and societal betterment during an inspiring event at SIT. This gathering acknowledged his foresight and enduring commitment to assisting economically and socially underprivileged populations.

For close to three decades, Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel has been dedicated to the education sector, notably advocating for rural technical education. Under his guidance, SIT has expanded its offerings to include numerous undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs, supported by NBA accreditation and officially sanctioned research centers.

MIT Square, a prominent global innovation and education entity headquartered in Bengaluru with a significant base in London, presented this honor to Mr. Jaleel. This recognition falls under its RAISE (Research, Applications, Innovation, Science & Technology, Entrepreneurship) Centre of Excellence initiative, designed for pioneers in education. The purpose of this initiative is to link and enhance the impact of educators and change-makers worldwide.  This award underscores MIT Square’s commitment to achieving global academic distinction through its RAISE Centre of Excellence programs, which involve partnerships with institutions in India, the UK, and other nations.  

Dr. Mithileysh Sathiyanarayanan, CEO of MIT Square, offered commendation, stating: “Mr. Jaleel’s impactful work demonstrates education’s capacity to overcome societal disparities. His approach resonates with our core principle of fostering inclusive research and innovation.” Additionally, Dr. Mithileysh’s parents addressed the gathering, warmly commending Mr. Jaleel for his modesty, foresight, and long-standing devotion to improving rural education.

Upon receiving the honor, Mr. Jaleel reiterated the ongoing objective of broadening academic opportunities in rural areas. He stated, “This acknowledgement strengthens SIT’s goal to cultivate future engineers, scholars, and leaders from underserved communities.” Furthermore, discussions are already progressing to investigate potential collaborations with MIT Square’s international innovation network in India and Dubai, encompassing initiatives such as exchange programs, collaborative research, and professional development for faculty and students.
