Tencent Cloud Supports GoTo in Completing Southeast Asia’s Largest Cloud Migration, Jointly Advancing Innovative Digital Transformation

Singapore, Singapore Jun 8, 2025 – Tencent Cloud and GoTo Group announced on June 5 the successful completion of Gojek’s migration, GoTo’s ride-hailing and delivery service, to Tencent Cloud.

GoTo, the largest internet technology firm in Indonesia, has three primary business segments: mobility, e-commerce, and digital finance, with Gojek being a key part. The Gojek and Tencent Cloud teams collaborated closely for over eight months on research and solution development, utilizing over 50 Tencent Cloud products, including CVM, CBS, WAF, TKE, and ES. The migration was finished in 4 hours and 54 minutes, exceeding the scheduled time by over an hour.

The migration employed advanced live migration technology, facilitating the smooth transfer of active systems between Tencent Cloud’s Data Centers and servers. It also featured strong database tooling, which supported over ten database types with features like effective data replication, disaster recovery, and rollback, guaranteeing resilience and continuity at scale.

Tencent Cloud’s third Indonesian data center (IDC) is now fully operational. This migration enables GoTo to significantly improve its business stability and security, establishing a strong and dependable digital technology base for its rapidly expanding operations.

Patrick Walujo, CEO of GoTo Group, stated: “By collaborating closely with Tencent Cloud to improve our local infrastructure, we can provide a dependable experience for our users. We appreciate Tencent Cloud’s strong support and collaboration throughout this challenging process.”

Poshu Yeung, Senior Vice President of Tencent Cloud International, commented: “We are honored to have finished this significant project with GoTo. By helping GoTo with its migration, we have contributed to building a solid and effective technological foundation that will allow GoTo to take advantage of more growth opportunities in the future.”

GoTo formally signed cooperation agreements with Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud at the China-Indonesia Business Forum in Beijing on November 11, 2024, in the presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, pledging to deepen collaboration in cloud infrastructure, data centers, and talent development. By 2030, with an estimated total investment of roughly US$500 million, they will strengthen local digital infrastructure, resource integration, and related sector development in Indonesia based on local needs.

The global digital development boom has fueled rapid growth in demand for international cloud services in recent years. Tencent Cloud’s international business has experienced consistent double-digit growth over the last three years, serving over 10,000 businesses across 30 industries. Tencent Cloud now operates in over 80 countries and regions, and it is becoming the preferred cloud partner for businesses all over the world.
