Washington, D.C., District of Columbia, November 4, 2024 – The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) has announced the recipients of its annual Leadership Awards. These awards recognize individuals and organizations who demonstrate exceptional commitment to the legal profession and the Washington metropolitan community.
“The BADC is honored to recognize this outstanding group of honorees,” stated BADC President Rawle Andrews Jr., Esq. “These awardees are being recognized for their legal expertise, integrity, and dedication to serving their clients and communities, both in times of peace and during the pandemic. We are grateful for their contributions to the legal profession, their respective organizations, and the community at large,” Andrews added.
The 2024 awardees will be celebrated at the upcoming BADC Annual Awards Banquet and Gala, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Capital Hilton (DC):
- Hon. James E. Boasberg, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Judicial Honoree
- Shirley Ann Higuchi, Esq., American Psychological Association, Lawyer of the Year
- Sanchita R. Bose, Esq., Hogan Lovells, Esq., Young Lawyer of the Year
- Elaine R. Jones, Esq., President & Director-Counsel Emerita, Hon. Annice Wagner Pioneer Award
In addition to the aforementioned awards, the BADC will acknowledge the following individuals and organizations at the 153rd Annual Banquet:
The late David F. Grimaldi, Esq., Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award (posthumously); and the Capital Area Food Bank. The BADC Foundation will recognize the Neighborhood Legal Service Program (NLSP) as the 2024 Suzanne V. Richards Grantee.
