Award-winning author, actor, literacy advocate, and kidpreneur John Xavier, a remarkable 10-year-old from the Philadelphia area, is scheduled to host the Kidpreneur Conference in Clarkston, Georgia. The event will take place on April 11-12, 2025, at the Clarkston Community Center. John Xavier, known for his significant contributions to literacy and the arts, will share his experiences and inspire the next wave of young readers and writers.
John, a recipient of the 2023 Nina Simone Artistic Excellence in Writing Award from the YGB Entrepreneurial Awards Program and the State of New York, has won over readers with his engaging children’s books, such as John’s Journey to Outer Space and John’s Virtual School Journey.
Beyond his writing achievements, John Xavier has significantly impacted youth literacy through partnerships with organizations like the Philadelphia Free Library and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). Together, they launched a city-wide literacy campaign aimed at promoting fluent reading among children by the 4th grade. His collaborations with the Philadelphia School District, Girls Inc., and ParentChild+ have also included author visits and writing workshops, fostering creativity and literacy in young people.
John’s creative talents also extend to filmmaking; he wrote the short film Sci-Kids, which was inspired by his book series. The film has received recognition, winning Best Short in the Children & Family category at IndieFEST and gaining acceptance into various film festivals. He also co-hosts the Kidz Got the Biz Podcast, where he showcases young entrepreneurs and their inspiring stories. This summer, the podcast will be exclusively available on the Kidogo Network. Additionally, John will be the featured author at the Philly Indie Book and Jazz Festival on June 7, 2025, at the Miles Mack Recreation Center in West Philadelphia.
