Canada Increases Aerial Firefighting Resources to Safeguard Communities

WINNIPEG, MB, Nov. 28, 2025 – Media representatives are invited to a press conference with Anthony Housefather, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada. The conference will focus on investments in leased aircraft to strengthen aerial firefighting capabilities across provinces and territories, protecting Canadians from increasingly intense wildfires.

Parliamentary Secretary Housefather will be accompanied by Minister Ian Bushie, Manitoba Minister of Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures.

Following their prepared statements, Parliamentary Secretary Housefather and Minister Bushie will be available to answer questions from the press.
